Where It All Began

So this is a big one for me.

I think by now, everyone who reads this blog or follows me on social media knows I love taking photos and documenting old vending machines in the wild. It’s just something I’ve always loved to do. There is something extremely comforting finding these out of date relics when you least expect it! 

Well this is what started it all! The first pic I took that started my weirdo hobby. I think somewhere outside Pittsburgh. My friend at the time and I were on our way to a convention in either 2003 or 2004 and when we stopped for gas I saw this and immediately whipped out my bulky 35mm camera and snapped a shot! I loved seeing that Pepsi next to RC and a vintage Diet Coke machine. Back then, it wasn’t common to see RC Cola machines anywhere so if I know myself well, I prolly was blown away by the image of a very 1990s RC display at some random small town gas station.

Glad to finally find this pic! I legit thought I lost this photo forever but I was so elated to find it was scanned on my old computer back home. I nearly exploded through my roof. I have a giant box of old photos through the years and I cannot tell you how many times I’ve attempted to go through it just for THIS particular photo. Whew, what a relief.

Now I want a cold can of soda…
