WELCOME TO MOTU MONTH 2020

I told myself I wouldn't do any more of these theme months until Thanksgiving. I actually had a full slate of Ghostbusters content I wanted to produce this summer but with the movie being pushed back it just wasn't doable. Then about a month and a half ago, I realized needed something to energize me. Blogging, creatively, podcasting, whatever, I just need something to motivate me and as it has been the case since I was a kid, that's when He-Man stepped into save the day...

MOTU MONTH, a fun He-Man-centric event that I started back in 2017, has always been something I looked forward too. It always made me dig into the mythology of my favorite childhood toyline and explore things that even I didn't know about! It's a fun time of year. Of course I know everyone is gearing up for Halloween and fall but I'm just still trying to squeeze that last feeling of summer and when I think of summer, I think of being a kid and having as much fun in the backyard with my GI Joes and He-Man figures as I could. Plus, a lot of He-Man events have taken place in August which I'll cover later.

The one thing I will say is this: unlike previous years, I probably won't be seeking as much sanctuary on this blog as I will social media. That's usually how I get my hopes up to an almost silly level, so I have maybe 2-3 fun entries a week planned while my social media (Instagram and Twitter:@HorrorMovieBBQ) will be constantly peppered with lots of fun He-Man-centric posts to help push and celebrate this event!

So I certainly hope you will enjoy what I  have in store and it helps bring out those fond memories of sitting in front of the TV with your favorite muscle-bound hunk and his weirdo friends all across the universe. Because especially after all that 2020 has dumped in our lap, don't we deserve a nice, warm and fuzzy blanket in the form of nostalgia for a little while?
